About Me

My photo
Welcome, my name is Sylvia Smiser. I am a self taught artist. I enjoy creating one of a kind art dolls and sculpted figures. Vintage Halloween styled artwork and Dia de los Muertos art dolls is what comes naturally to me and what I am most passionate about creating. I am a proud member of the wonderful art groups EHAG (Eclectic Halloween Artists Guild) and PFATT (Primitive Folk Art Talk & Tea). I am a participating artist at Ghoultide Gathering. I am honored to have been published in Art Doll Quarterly, Dolls magazine, Somerset Studio Gallery and Celebrate 365 Magazine. I am also a Physical Therapist and Mama to 15 year old Boy/Girl Twins. My husband is a wonderful man who is very supportive of my art and together with our two doggy fur kids we make one happy, busy family.

OWOH Treasures!

I can't tell you how much fun I had visiting all the blogs that I was able to get to during the One World One Heart blog event.  I don't think anyone can visit every single blog. There are so many and each blog has so many interesting places to explore and get lost in.
I left a comment on many a blog and met many wonderful people along the way.  As if discovering all these new places all over the world was not enough, I also was fortunate enough to win 3 GREAT blog giveaways.

I won a wonderful, very detailed Holiday recipe book from Mary Ann of Follow Your Bliss Designs.  Thank you so much Mary Ann, my daughter and I have already started to add all of our holiday desert recipes to it.

Then I got notification that I won a wonderful set of vintage Spring fabrics in yellows and Blues and some vintage Birthday invitations from Jessica of Sunny Tuesday. Thank you very much Jessica, after I finish a few works in progress I will be sitting down with these fabrics so that they can let me know what they want to become ; )

Then to my amazement, I won a gorgeous milk maid art doll from Jan of Lucy's Baby.  She was packaged with so much love and care when she arrived to me this morning.  I can't tell you how much this made my day! She has the most hauntingly beautiful eyes and her little baby cow is so adorable.  Thank you so much Jan! You do wonderful art work and I will treasure her always.

Yes indeed, I am a very lucky girl! Lucky and very very grateful!!! Thank you Mary Ann, Jessica, and Jan for your kind and very generous OWOH gifts!

  2. Hi Sylvia,
Such a lovely post. Seeing Milk Maid in her new home, brings warmth to my heart-like when you see an old photo of someone you're very fond of.
I'm so glad you like her and her little moo.
