Welcome, my name is Sylvia Smiser. I am a self taught artist. I enjoy creating one of a kind art dolls and sculpted figures. Vintage Halloween styled artwork and Dia de los Muertos art dolls is what comes naturally to me and what I am most passionate about creating.
I am a proud member of the wonderful art groups EHAG (Eclectic Halloween Artists Guild) and PFATT (Primitive Folk Art Talk & Tea). I am a participating artist at Ghoultide Gathering. I am honored to have been published in Art Doll Quarterly, Dolls magazine, Somerset Studio Gallery and Celebrate 365 Magazine.
I am also a Physical Therapist and Mama to 15 year old Boy/Girl Twins. My husband is a wonderful man who is very supportive of my art and together with our two doggy fur kids we make one happy, busy family.

On this magical Christmas Eve, I want to take a moment to say Merry Christmas to you and yours! Well, I decided to try something a little different this month. I don't often have a chance to make a large Christmas piece, but I have recently become full of the Christmas Spirit and felt
the need to sculpt this piece.
It is 12 1/2 inches tall and about 7 1/2 inches wide.
Each little elf was sculpted separately and each little wool felt coat was tailored to fit each one individually. It was so much fun to make!
My son named this piece for me. He said it looked like Cirque Du Snow'leil.
I thought it was clever and kept it.
This piece will be available on the PFATT Marketplace tomorrow, Nov. 10th. The update happens at 10 AM Pacific time, Noon Central, 1 PM Eastern.

I had planned to share a big Halloween Party with you that was going to take place here in my home. But Alas, my chill has spread to my little pumpkin children and we need to stay warm and cozy so that we are bright eyed and healthy for All Hallow's Eve.
However, I certainly will not miss this Halloween blog event. So I thought, what better Halloween Party is there to share than Ghoultide Gathering! I have not had a chance to post photos yet, so today, I will share the biggest Artful Halloween Party there is!
I have been fortunate enough to attend this gathering the last three years and each year it gets better and better!
So come with me and I will be your tour guide to this magical event.

So now that you know what it sounds like at Ghoultide Gathering let me tell you how it smells...It is a wonderful mix of Hot apple cider, Hot chocolate, Kettle corn, pumpkin fudge and little mini chocolate cupcakes with little jack-o-lanterns made out of yummy frosting. Yumm!

Wow, There are so many great things going on right now I almost don't know where to begin!
First of all I am packing and planning this week so that I don't forget anything before my yearly trip to Ghoultide Gathering. I am so in love with this event! It is pure Magic! It makes you feel that giddy excitement you felt as a child right before going Trick or Treating!!! If you ever get an opportunity to go to this art show please take it! It is an experience that you will treasure always. There are so many talented artists from all over in one historical location. Some of my PFATT sisters are also Ghoulies at this event and I can't wait to hang out with them! So much Fun ahead!!!
More Great News is that I have the honor of being PUBLISHED again! This time in Celebrate 365!
Not only is my art work in this magazine but I share a page with Scott Smith of Rucus Studios among other magnificently talented artists! Scott is my favorite Halloween Artist so I am thrilled that my work is included with his!!!

Hello Everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I am in the greatest of moods because it is beginning to feel, smell, and taste like Fall here in Central Illinois.
I have been busy creating new art work with Halloween and Day of the Dead in mind. I also recently found out that Miss Vanessa's Halloween Blog Party will be Oct. 22nd. All of the details are not ironed out yet but I will keep you posted as I will definitely be participating. I have already begun working on my GIVEAWAY Piece for this Magical Event!
I have also begun preparations for my yearly pilgrimage to Northville, MI for The Amazing Ghoultide Gathering. It looks like I may be going solo this year but that is OK as I have many Ghoulie friends that will be there. If you are going please send me a message as I love to meet all my blog land friends.
